Welcome

Good Shepherd’s Children’s Center offers the following programs:

Full Day Pre-School/Child Care

Three year olds are curious, all day, every day. It’s that expected sense of curiosity that we use to teach them to learn and grow. In our classrooms your child is free to be anything from an actor to an architect. Make-believe play, hands-on activities, small and large motor activities are just a few ways that we keep kids actively learning and engaged. These activities are also done to encourage development in several important areas. Our teachers plan age-appropriate small group interactions to work closely with your child to accomplish developmentally appropriate tasks.

Our center is open Monday-Friday from 6am-6pm. The center provides breakfast and afternoon snack, the parents must provide lunch.

Full Day Pre-K/Child Care

Kindergarten is an exhilarating move for children and parents alike. At Good Shepherd a large amount of what we have done in past years has all been leading up to it. But it is during our Pre-K program, for children age 4-5, that it becomes even more significant.

Teachers plan activities to increase knowledge of fundamental educational concepts through discovery, exploration and participation. While we amplify the focus on mathematics, science and language we strive to present it a fun and engaging way. In our Pre-K class the children are presented with a wide variety of learning scenarios that help develop their self-esteem and social interactions as well.

The center’s operating hours are Monday-Friday, 6am-6pm. The center provides breakfast and afternoon snack, the parents must provide lunch.

Part Day Pre-School

Three year olds are curious, all day, every day. It’s that expected sense of curiosity that we use to teach them to learn and grow. These activities are also done to encourage development in several important areas. Our teachers plan age-appropriate small group interactions to work closely with your child to accomplish developmentally appropriate tasks.

Our Pre-K class is held from September-May, Monday-Friday from 12:30-3:00.

Before/After School Care

Children from the time they start Kindergarten want to feel all grown up, but they also need coziness and safekeeping. So instead of just daycare, our Before and After School program is designed to maintain their growing curiosity in sports, art, music.

Our School Age staff work hard to provide a wide variety of self-selected activities along with homework help. Good Shepherd provides before and after school care for children attending Joppatowne Elementary School. We also provide drop in care on days that school is closed. Drop-in care is available regardless of what elementary school your child attends. We also offer a full day summer camp.

Summer Camp

Each Summer our Before and After School Care program becomes a full time Summer Camp.

What people are saying about Good Shepherd Children’s Center

Good Shepherd’s preschool program is the best! My children have learned so much there thanks to Ms. Jeana and Ms. Pat!  Being a part of their classes has helped them to read earlier, work well with others, and so much more.  Everyone there is so kind and amazing; they truly care about the children they teach!

Approximately three years ago, my husband and I were blessed with a second family. At the time, we had four children ranging in age from 27 to 14.  We had used the Children’s Center many years ago for two of our older children, so we gave them a call. From day one we have felt part of the family. The teachers are warm and loving, and the care is exceptional! The kids love coming to “school” and playing with all of their friends. I can not say enough about the Children’s center! In addition to the Children’s Center, the church also hosts Shepherd’s Kids and an annual Easter Egg Hunt. Again, the kids LOVE going!!!  Everyone is so welcoming and friendly and the kids always have a great time while learning about Jesus.
