Good Shepherd has a chance to let its light shine on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. as we participate in the Susquehanna Parish’s Lenten worship program. Through-out the season of Lent, the Susquehanna Parish will visit vari-ous churches in our Parish System and experience worship in different settings. The Good Shepherd Worship Commit-tee had already decided to sponsor at outdoor Living Last Supper as a visual for our community. We have simply moved this pre-scheduled event to a Wednesday evening to accommodate the Susquehanna Parish Ministry Group.

Our plan is to set up tables and props to match the well-known Leonardo de Vince rendering of The Last Supper. We will need 12-15 people to sit at the table, wearing a costume (which will be provided) for about 30-45 minutes. We will offer short narratives on what those first disciples went on to do with their lives upon the death and resurrection of Christ. Participants will not have to say anything, only needing to rise when their name is called when the narrative is read about them.

We will also stage a few people who could act as servants/servers of the tables, standing in place with baskets of fruit/bread and pitchers, as if serving the table. A sign-up sheet is in the church hallway, and we hope you will help us to make a connection with our neighborhood and other congregants in the Susquehanna Parish by participating. Men, women, fathers, sons – all are invited to get into costume and help to recreate a defining moment in the life of the church….the institution of the Lord’s Supper and command to “Love Others” as Christ loved his disciples.

We will celebrate with an outdoor panorama by our front sign where we will hear special words about the 12 disciples and their night in the Upper Room. We are participating in the Susquehanna Parish Lenten Worship series; this service will be livestreamed. Good Shepherd
participants will be in costume and the “Last Supper” scene will be visible to our immediate neighborhood.

We will observe Communion on the next night, Maundy Thursday, April 14, at a more intimate worship service in our sanctuary at 7:00 p.m.
